What happens during a consultation?

A first time consultation usually takes between 1½ and 2 hours!
The Homeopath takes a full history of the person’s life, health, any diseases or illnesses from the past as well as a family history. The emotional situation of the patient is very important as well, and of course life-style and habits also play a big role in the assessment. Depending on the situation whether the treatment is for an acute illness which can be an acute outbreak of a chronic condition or the treatment of an acute like a flu, cold, ear-infection, kidney stone or anything you can imagine, the first visit can also be shorter.
If the treatment is approaching a chronic condition the Homeopath usually takes some time to review the information and to find the remedy that is the closest to the symptom picture of the patient. The review often involves some further research before the Homeopath carefully makes a decision on the prescription. The term “Classical Homeopathy” means that the Homeopath usually only works with one remedy at the time and doesn’t mix them. The homeopathic remedy prescribed is either taken on a daily bases for a period of time or in many cases the Homeopath can give a high potency prescription which only needs to be taken once and will act in the body for about 6 to 12 weeks. With the repetition of the remedy on a regular base the remedies tend to last longer every time they are taken. This form of treatment makes Homeopathic treatment very inexpensive but long lasting.
